    What Is an OCD Intensive?

    Our 5-day intensive program designed specifically for children. All interventions, exposures, and teaching strategies are developmentally tailored, play-informed, and grounded in evidence-based approaches for pediatric OCD. A parent or support person is expected to attend all of Day 1, and to join the first or last 30 minutes of Days 2–5 for support and coaching.


    Sample Schedule: What to Expect

    Day 1: Understanding OCD & Building the Plan

    Parent required for full session
    • Welcome, orientation, family goals discussion
    • Psychoeducation (What is OCD? ERP explained)
    • ACT values work (child + parent reflection)
    • Review personalized exposure hierarchy
    • Parent coaching intro: accommodation, coaching
    • Wrap-up, homework assigned, preview of Day 2

    Day 2: ERP Preparation + First Exposures

    • Homework review
    • In-session ERP prep
    • 1-3 guided exposures with response prevention
    • Debrief, track SUDS, assign homework
    • Parent update / coaching check-in

    Day 3: Practicing Courage

    • Homework review
    • Celebrate successes
    • Reflection – values based motivation
    • Guided exposures
    • Parent debrief and coaching
    • Generalization planning

    Day 4: Generalization Day

    • Planning ERP “on the go”
    • Community-based exposures (offsite if needed)
    • Return + debrief (SUDS, successes, blocks)
    • Begin relapse prevention planning
    • Parent strategy session: reducing accommodation

    Day 5: Wrap-Up & Relapse Prevention

    • Progress review
    • Final exposures + SUDS tracking
    • Child reflection: values, courage, wins
    • Relapse prevention planning
    • Parent training: How to be your child’s OCD coach

    Program Features

    • 2 hours/day for 5 consecutive days (Monday–Friday)
    • ERP tasks are adapted to the child’s age and developmental needs
    • Creative, playful, and values-based strategies are incorporated throughout
    • Parents are essential members of the treatment team
    • Daily homework and SUDS tracking will be assigned and reviewed
