    Clinical Therapist

    Valary Bond, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). She specializes in working with children, adolescents, teens and parents. She appreciates the uniqueness that each individual brings to counseling. She values building a genuine therapeutic relationship that allows the individuals to be their authentic selves and discover their hidden strengths to navigate life. She has experience working with children that are diagnosed with anxiety, depression, ADHD, adjustment issues, behavior issues, oppositional, conduct, trauma, and substance abuse. Valary uses an integrative approach, which includes Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems.

    Valary received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Studies from University of Houston and her Masters of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy. She believes that play is a universal method for children who experience it in unique ways. She also understands the importance of how family members affect one another and operate as a unit.

    Previously, Valary has worked in mental health outpatient settings providing therapy to children, teens, and adults. She has had experience pulling from a child’s strengths in order to create a plan that builds resiliency in the child. Valary is a member of the Texas Counseling Association, Association for Play Therapy, and Sam Houston Chapter of Play Therapy.
