    Clinical Therapist

Valary Bond is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, and parents. She believes in the importance of families – strengthening the family unit and supporting the child parent relationship. Valary appreciates the uniqueness that each individual brings to counseling. She encourages them to be their authentic selves and teaches them to use their strengths to navigate relationships and life. Valary describes her empathy for her clients as “relentless”.

Valary understands that a child’s struggles aren’t a reflection of poor parenting—they often come down to parents simply running out of tools. Luckily, Valary has an extensive toolkit and she is an expert in teaching parents how to bring about positive change.  Valary has shared her expertise through presenting on panels, hosting webinars, and writing articles about child development and parenting.

Valary uses an integrative approach in session, including Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems.  In addition to individual and family sessions, Valary can observe children in the classroom when needed.  She also connects with teachers, counselors, pediatricians, speech therapists, and anyone else involved in the child’s care. Her goal is to build relationships to create a network of support that makes a child’s growing up years smoother and brighter.

Valary received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Studies from University of Houston and her Masters of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. She is a member of the Texas Counseling Association, Association for Play Therapy, and Sam Houston Chapter of Play Therapy.
