Clinical Therapist
Savannah Harrah is a LPC-Associate under the supervision of Betsy Smith, LPC-S. She specializes in working with toddlers, children, preteens, and parents. She believes that a child centered play therapy approach is the absolute best foundation for building a relationship, creating a space to work, and understanding what is going on with a child. Once that is in place, she integrates interventions from a variety of evidence based approaches.
Savannah works collaboratively with parents to address social, emotional, behavioral, and executive functioning challenges that children face. She addresses the underlying needs of the child in therapy, while also providing strategies for success at school and at home. Savannah frequently communicates with other medical or educational professionals who work with the child in order to gather information and coordinate the most effective care.
Savannah received her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas at Dallas. Savannah also has bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Markets and Culture from Southern Methodist University. Savannah has additional training and certifications in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Children, Autplay Therapy (a neurodiversity affirming framework), and Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Trauma in Schools.
She loves working with children because she enjoys seeing them grow and change over time, developing into creative and wonderful people. When Savannah isn’t at Bellaire Family Counseling, she is snuggling with her cat, trying new restaurants, playing golf, or flying to Alaska and Nevada to see her family.
