    Jennifer Waldo is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She specializes in working with teens, adults, and families experiencing grief/loss, trauma, addiction, risky behaviors, depression, anxiety, and loss of meaning/purpose in life. She is committed to helping people harness their personal strengths and engage with their emotional pain in order to live a more healthy and meaningful life. She tailors her therapeutic approach to each individual drawing largely from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

    Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Gender Studies from the University of California at Davis. After moving to Texas, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University. While in graduate school, she worked on several research projects aimed at identifying the most effective treatments for teens in need of mental health and drug treatment. She remains invested in helping therapists stay informed in order to provide the best care possible to their patients.

    Before joining Bellaire Family Counseling, Jennifer worked at a hospital providing individual and family therapy to teens struggling with suicide, self harm, anger outbursts, risky behaviors, bullying, and abusive dating relationships. Throughout her career she has gained other valuable experience providing individual and group therapy in hopsitals, college counseling centers, and domestic violence shelters.
